this is a long overdue post of the fun we had at the salcedo saturday market last vday. so here goes...
im sure a lot of people reserved tables at various restaurants today but not hubby and i. we wanted to veer away from the cliche, postponed our vday dinner next week and went to the market for valentines day. yes, you read right, we decided to go to the market on hearts day, the saturday salcedo market that is!
with coffee and ham in hand and a lot of other treats in the GIT, hubby and i left the market two satisfied customers!
As i was browsing through japanese food reviews of manila, i realized that ive never eaten in half of the restaurants described as the best japanese places in town (and i call myself a japanese food enthusiast!). So when i was asked where i wanted to eat last night i said i would put my trust in the chef (omakase)
Omakase is situated at the 2nd floor and upon entering, i knew we would not be getting fastfood versions of japanese food. Oh joy!
since i am a person who appreciates good food (je suis gourmand), this restaurant at the ground floor of net one seemed like a good place for our post vday dinner!
hubby called for reservations which was well and good because as we were having our dinner the restaurant filled up all the tables as far as i could see. the place is cozy despite the fine dining flair. the waiters are well versed and were attentive to the needs of the gourmands at the restaurant. chef marc aubrey even made his rounds at the tables greeting the diners.
i was hungry from a whole day of doing my lecture and i knew what i wanted
je suis stuffed! (click to learn about the dishes we ordered)
we were supposed to watch the mazda club drifting stint at the fort after our saturday salcedo market visit but we were there a little too early and were too impatient to wait. so we headed to megamall to buy a canister to keep my newly bought TonG coffee fresh.
walking around the mall, we decided to have lunch and scouted the new atrium of megamall for somewhere good to eat. hubby wanted to try secret recipe as he has never tasted the food there. surprisingly they were running a promo that will avail you of a 4 course meal for couples that costs only P999! the offer was too good to pass up and so started or 1 hour and 1/2 journey to all things good!
